Mohsen Rais

Mohsen Raïs (Persian محسن رئیس; * 1896 † in the 20th century) was a Persian diplomat.

Life

Mohsen Rais studied in Tehran and Geneva. In 1931 he was chargé d'affaires in Paris. He then headed the League of Nations and contracts in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. From 1935 to 1938 he was ambassador to the Netherlands and the German empire. In 1938, he headed the department of politics at the State Department and was a managing Persian foreign minister. In this role he had conferred with Murray Wallace the resumption of diplomatic relations between the governments of the U.S. and Reza Shah Pahlavi.

In 1939 he was envoy to the Balkans and in 1941 the Vichy regime. 1942 derive the Iranian Telephone Authority. 1943-1947 Ambassador in Baghdad. From 1947 to 1951 he was ambassador in London and was subsequently installed as acting Minister of Foreign Affairs in Tehran.

On November 10, 1953, he presented in Paris his credentials as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary.
