Monastery of St Saviour

The Salvator Church with the 1551 built the Franciscan monastery Salvator in the Christian Quarter of the Old City of Jerusalem near the New Gate is the seat of the Custody of the Holy Land.

Building

The monastery church was built in 1885, among other things, with great financial support from Emperor Franz Josef, the upper part of the striking bell tower took its final form in 1931.

Equipment

The great organ was built in 2008 by the organ building firm Rieger ( Austria ). The abrasive loading instrument has 46 registers on three manuals and pedal.
