Monopteros
A monopteros (. Greek ὁ μονόπτερος of μόνος, transkr, monos '. , Only, only, alone, and τὸ πτερόν, transkr, pteron ' wing ) is a circular building with columns, according to modern usage, in contrast to the Tholos no Cella - a closed interior - has. In Greek and especially Roman antiquity, the term could be used also for the Tholos. In ancient times served Monopteroi (Greek οἱ μονόπτεροι ), among others, as a kind of canopy for a cult image. Description
