Monster Rancher

Monster Rancher (Japaneseモンスター ファーム, Monsutā FAMU for engl. Monster Farm ) is a series of Japanese video game company Tecmo. It was adapted into a 73 - episode anime series.

Games

In the game, the player assumes the role of a monster holder of rearing them and can fight in tournaments against each other. The owner must take care of the monsters, train it and keep it healthy. Monsters can be true or less true, depending on the way they were raised. This also depends on their combat strength. The game thus belongs to the genre of Raising Sims.

Next to it a variant of Tecmo's game Solomon's Key ( Solomon no Kagi ) appeared with Monster Rancher Characters for the Game Boy Color on 25 September 2000 and in the U.S. in October 2000 under the title Monster Rancher Explorer.

TV Series

The 73 - episode anime series Monster Rancher is about the eleven-year primary school students Genki Sakura, who comes to the video game world over the Monster Rancher video games from the real world and there, along with his friends, fighting against the evil monster Moo that wants to destroy the world. There he becomes very many new things, have to expose and prove what true friendship means fighting. He shows courage and strength of character.

World

The world of Monster Rancher was once a highly developed civilization whose science was particularly far in the field of genetic engineering. Therefore, they could redesign animals and store their genetic information in stone slabs, the secret Eats A, . With the help of these undercover Eats A can recreate these animals in special shrines.

In this world now a war broke out, in which the animals were further developed into biological weapons. The civilizations wiped each other out and the technology was lost. Centuries later, the technology has been rediscovered as the secret Eats A and shrines. In order for the monster to be created again and there is a popular sport, the monster breeding. The Monster Breeder draw the monster in size and these compete in tournaments and competitions.

Publication

The series consists of two seasons and was directed by Hiroyuki Yano in the studio TMS Entertainment (which changed its name in the first season under the name Kyokuichi Tōkyō Movie). The first season Monster Farm - Enbanseki no Himitsu (モンスター ファーム~円盤 石 の 秘密~ ) aired on April 17, 1999 to March 25, 2000 on TBS and the second Monster Farm - Densetsu e no Michi (モンスター ファーム~伝説 へ の 道~ ) from 1 April to 30 September 2000.

From January to November 2001 beamed RTL II from all the episodes in the afternoon program Pokito against 15 clock. On Fox Kids all episodes from January 2001 were sent to June 2003. By 2004 Monster Rancher on RTL II, Fox Kids and Premiere Start was repeated. In 2005, the series ran for the last time on German television in the early evening at Tele 5
