Mühlenbecker country is a municipality and district Upper Havel in Brandenburg. It is located on the northern outskirts of Berlin. It was created in 2003 through the merger of four previously independent municipalities.

History

The community Mühlenbecker country was founded on October 26, 2003 from the voluntary merger of previously independent municipalities Mill Beck, Schildow, Schönfließ and Zühlsdorf.

Municipal council

The last elections for local council Mühlenbecker country was held on 28 September 2008. Of 11,158 eligible voters gave 5,753 people cast their votes, representing a turnout of 51.56 percent. Consisting of 22 members of the municipal council is accordingly as follows:

In each of the four districts, there is a town council, which consists of five people and cares about local issues. The head of the Ortsbeirates is called mayor, he is also a member of the municipal council.

In the local elections of 28 September 2008, the SPD was just the most votes and form since 90/The Greens with the largest party in the municipal council, chaired by Harald Grimm ( SPD).

25 September 2011 was Filippo Smaldino - Stattaus (SPD), elected in a runoff election with 64.4 percent of the new mayor of Mühlenbecker country and thus took over from his predecessor Klaus Brietzke ( CDU).

The community is connected via the S -Bahn line S8 to the Berlin transport network. In the municipality the stations are mill -Mönchmühle and Schönfließ. In the district Zühlsdorf the regional train line Rb27 at the same station of the " Heidekrautbahn " holds. In addition, the BVG bus 107 and the OVG bus lines 806, 809 and 810 through the village; the district Zühlsdorf also has connections to bus lines of the neighboring district of Barnim, direction Wandlitz. The nearest motorway junction is Mill Beck on the A10 (Berliner Ring).
