Vans is the name for a small and specialized carriers, device carrier and multi-functional vehicle that is manufactured by Vans - branch plant of Hako-Werke GmbH in Walterhausen. Vans therefore is the only automobile brand that is left of the industry association vehicles of the GDR.

History

The contractor was called Arthur Ade (1882-1957) - - In 1920, the present company as ADE -Werke was founded. In 1948 the company was renamed VEB Fahrzeugwerk Walter Hausen, he wore up to its privatization in 1991. The original diesel ant DK 2002 was produced from 1951 in the VEB fire Erbisdorf. The vehicle was designed for the maintenance depot transport, made ​​5.6 hp and the steering was performed by Fußwippe in the open cab. From 1993 to 2010, the successor to M 26 was produced. The Hako -Werke took over in 1998, the shares of the German holding company and were thus the majority shareholder. The products TREMO (formerly Kramer ) and UX 100 ( vorwals Unimog) were merged into Walter Hausen. In 2001, the construction of the new M30 series began Fumo (function and mobility). In cooperation with Krauss-Maffei Wegmann, the special vehicle Mungo is manufactured for use in the army since 2004, now already in its third generation. The current products M 27, FUMO and the particularly narrow TREMO and the new M 31 are all equipped with homologated according to Euro 5 standard engines. Here, Vans uses two different common-rail diesel engines.
