Municipality of TurniÅ¡Äe
Turnišče (Hungarian Bántornya, German Thurnitz ) is a municipality in the Prekmurje region of Slovenia.
Location and population
In the overall community consisting of the four villages Gomilica, Nedelica, Renkovci and Turnišče 3495 people live. In the capital Turnišče 1555 people live. The municipality is located in the extreme eastern part of Slovenia, near the border with Hungary.
Attractions
Worth seeing is the Church of the Assumption. It was mentioned for the first time already in 1267 and is a pilgrimage church.
