Murphy Pakiam

Murphy Nicholas Xavier Pakiam (December 6, 1938 in Tapah ) is a Malaysian minister and emeritus Archbishop of Kuala Lumpur.

Life

Murphy Nicholas Xavier Pakiam received on 10 May 1964, the ordination.

Pope John Paul II appointed him auxiliary bishop on 1 April 1995 in Kuala Lumpur and Titular Bishop of Chunavia. The Archbishop of Kuala Lumpur, Anthony Soter Fernandez, consecrated him on 4 October of the same year to the bishop; Co-consecrators were James Chan Soon Cheong, Bishop of Melaka - Johor, and Antony Selvanayagam, Bishop of Penang.

On 24 May 2003 he was appointed Archbishop of Kuala Lumpur and is introduced into the office on 29 May of the same year.
