Nadezhda Konyayeva

Nadezhda Yefimovna Konjajewa (Russian Надежда Ефимовна Коняева, English transcription Nadezhda Konyayeva, married Самойлова - Samoilova - Samoylova, . Born October 5, 1931 in Tschapkino, Kursk Oblast ) is a former Soviet javelin thrower.

In 1954 she exhibited at three world records: On February 5, she threw 53.56 meters in Leningrad on May 22, 55.11 m and 55.48 m on August 6, each in Kiev.

The European Athletics Championships 1954, she won the bronze medal with 49.49 meters and had almost three and a half meters behind the winner Dana Zátopková from Czechoslovakia. Also on the bronze medal she arrived at the Olympic Games in Melbourne in 1956 with 50.28 meters, behind her compatriot Inese Jaunzeme ( 53.86 m) and the Chilean Marlene Ahrens ( 50.38 m).
