Nakkila

Nakkila is a municipality in the western Finnish landscape Satakunta with 5745 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012). It is located approximately 20 kilometers southeast of the port city of Pori on both sides of the river Kokemäenjoki.

The community was in 1861 removed from the city Ulvila and includes the villages Arantila, Anola, Järvikylä, Kivialho, Kukonharja, Lammainen, Leistilä, Masia, Matomäki, Pakkala, Penttala, Ruhade, Ruskila, Soinila, Tattara, Viikkala, Villilä and Vuohimäki. Twinning has Nakkila to places Hudiksvall ( Sweden) and Boksitogorsk (Russia).

Traditionally, agriculture and the craft of importance; since the 19th century timbered in Nakkila rocking chairs are sold at home and abroad. Today, however, dominate the metal and textile industries. The largest employer in the area, with around 300 employees, the work of the Textile Group Kuitukankaat Suominen Oy.

Among the attractions in Nakkila counts the 1938 built according to plans by Erkki Huttunen parish church, first built in the functionalist concrete construction Church of Finland. The main building of the old manor Villilä, built in 1852 and is an outstanding example of the Empire style in Finland. On the grounds of the estate is now home to a movie studio, which is sometimes referred to as the "Hollywood of Finland", however, considerably less glamorous excludes compared to the American model.
