Nancy Lee Grahn
Nancy Lee Grahn ( born April 28, 1955 in Skokie, Illinois ) is an American actress.
Life and achievements
Grahn, a daughter of two choreographers who studied at the University of Illinois. At the age of twelve, she played in a production of Guys and Dolls at the Goodman Theatre in Chicago. While she attended high school, she participated already in professional productions in Chicago. In 1976 she graduated from the school and moved to New York City where she attended the Neighbourhood Playhouse, an acting school. Only a few months after graduating, she was offered a role on the soap Love, lies, passion. After the expiration of their contract Nancy Lee Grahn moved to Los Angeles. There they took over in 1985 the role of Julia Wainwright in California communities, for which she won an Emmy in 1989 and in 1991 and was nominated for a total of Soap Opera Digest Award three times in 1993. She played this role until the end of the series in 1993.
Guest roles she had, among others, in the following series: Knight Rider, Murder She Wrote, Quincy, Simon & Simon and Little House. In the television series General Hospital Since 1997, she plays the role of Alexis Davis. For this role she was nominated in 2000, 2003, 2004 and 2005 for a Daytime Emmy; another nomination for this award brought her 2006 their participation in the special show SOAPnet Reveals ABC Soap Secrets. In the years 2000, 2001 and 2003, she received the Soap Opera Digest Award, for which she was nominated again in 2005 together with Rick Hearst.
Nancy Lee Grahn is working in their spare time as a spokeswoman for a group that takes care of the victims of violent crime. She also takes care of AIDS patients in the organization she founded ECO. For three years she volunteered at the San Fernando Family Guidance Clinic, which helps children in need, and she helped volunteer as a therapist in a clinic for the disabled. She also writes screenplays and short stories.
Since March 1998 Nancy Lee Grahn mother is a daughter Kate, who named it after their favorite actress Katharine Hepburn. The name of the Father, but they are not cheap and does not live together with him.
