Natasa Dusev-Janics

Natasa Janics (Croatian: Nataša Janić, Serbian: Наташа Јанић; * 24 June 1982 in Bačka Palanka, Yugoslavia ) is a Hungarian canoeist Serbo- Croatian origin.

Career

Janics first started for Yugoslavia, then Serbia and Montenegro, and since 2002 for Hungary, both in one -, two - and four-man kayak. At Olympic Games Janics previously won three gold and one silver medal. In Sydney, at that time still starting for Yugoslavia, she was fourth in the one - kayak. In 2004 she won the singles and with her partner Katalin Kovács in the K-2, four years later, the two won again in the K-2 and took silver in the K- 4th

The first world championship in Hungary starting in 2002, she won in Seville in quad kayak sprinting to 200 m. In the double kayak she was dominant with Kovács from 2005, she won at the World Championships in Zagreb three gold medals in 2005 on 200, 500 and 1000 meters. In 2006, the two managed to triple this again in two, and for the first time in four.

She was named Athlete of the Year in Hungary 2004. Your club is Demasz Szeged Vízisport Egyesülete, where she trains with Viktor Vécsi and Nandor Sári. At a size of 1.74 meters she has a competition weight of 67 kg.

Natasa Janics is the daughter of Milan Janić, the silver medal in the one - kayak won over 1000 meters for the former Yugoslavia at the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles. Her brothers Mićo and Stjepan Janić are also canoeists. She is married to the Bulgarian canoeists Andrian Duschew.
