Corporate Development

Nautor AB was founded in 1966 by Pekka Koskenkylä. In the same year a 36 -foot motor sailer was put on the market, but in 1970 sold again. In 1968, the first Swan 36 (length: 10,91 m) on the market with the name Casse Tete II, designed by Olin Stephens from the New York design office Sparkman & Stephens (S & S), won by the seven international regatta victories.

1970 was followed by the great Swan 65 (length: 19,68 m ) from the design office Sparkman & Stephens. The Swan 65 Sayula II ( Mexico) won in 1973/74 the first Whitbread Race and in the second Whitbread Race 1977/78 reached Swan 65 yachts the total seats two, four and five. Yachts of this size have since been produced primarily for Nautor. In 1978, the 1000th Swan yacht was delivered.

In 1974, the Swan 38 is the most produced model of Nautor on the market.

Shipyards and production facilities are located in Kallby, Kronoby, Larsmo and Jakobstad. Whereas in the first years of the yachts designed by Sparkman & Stephens design office, changed Nautor in 1975 with Ron Holland (Ireland) and in 1980 with German Frers (Argentina ) the designer.
