Naviair is the Danish air traffic control. It is an independent state-owned company ( Selvstændig Offentlig virksomhed ) and reports to the Danish Ministry of Transport ( Transportministeriet ).
Areas of activity
Naivair provides the infrastructure for civil aviation. The activities include the area » En Route - Denmark ", " En Route - Greenland ," as well as the local air traffic at individual airports:
The » En route - Denmark " includes the technical operation of the premises of the Danish airspace and traffic management of the Danish airports. In addition, the work area for information and dissemination of information for the flight control center in Copenhagen is responsible. The business scope also includes the technical operation and maintenance of radar and communication systems.
The » En route - Greenland " includes the technical operation, including training of aircraft and delivery of flight information in the information center in Kangerlussuaq. The activities also includes the technical operation and maintenance of radar equipment in the Faroe Islands, as well as the navigation and communication systems in the Faroe Islands and Greenland.
The area »Local air traffic control " includes the control tower and approach control at a number of airports and airfields. It provides the Faroe Islands in addition flight information.
Other responsibilities include the technical operation and maintenance of ATM equipment and airport equipment in Denmark.
Memberships
Naviair forms a composite with nine northern European air traffic control. The composite » Borealis Alliance " includes the ANSPs of Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Ireland, Lithuania, Norway, Sweden and the United Kingdom. This composite handles air traffic from 3.5 million flights per year, over an area of 12.5 square one million kilometers in the Northern European airspace. In the middle is the main route to the transatlantic transition.
