Nevin Yanıt

Nevin Yanit (* February 16, 1986 in Mersin ) is a Turkish hurdler who specializes in the 100 - meter track.

In 2007 she won the silver medal at the Universiade in Bangkok. At the World Championships in Osaka and at the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008, she reached the semi-finals.

In 2009 she won at the Mediterranean Games in Pescara and the Universiade in Bangkok Gold. At the World Championships in Berlin, she was eliminated in the semifinals.

In 2010 she won the gold medal at the European Championships in Barcelona with the national record of 12.63 s Two years later she defended her title in 12.81 seconds at the European Championships in Helsinki. At the 2012 Summer Olympic Games in London, she was able to improve their Turkish record 12.58 seconds and thus are Fifth as the best European.

At the European Indoor Championships 2013 in Gothenburg she won the gold medal with a new Turkish record of 7.89 seconds.

Nevin Yanit studied sports science at the Mersin Üniversitesi.
