New End Original

New End Original was an American indie rock / emo band from California.

Band History

New End Original founded in late 1999 by Jonah Matranga ( ex -Far and Onelinedrawing solo project ), Scott Winegard, Norman Arenas (both ex- Texas Is the Reason, ex - Shelter ) and Charlie Walker ( ex -Chamberlain ). First performed under the name Onlinedrawing, named after one of the first sample in New End Original order and Onlinedrawing was continued by Matranga as a solo project. It was thus a kind of indie supergroup, which became known pretty quickly. All band members moved to California and began first in the United States, then to also tour through Europe. Alone known for live performances then could sign a contract with Jade Tree the band. September 2001 was released the first single from Luke Warm. In October, the debut album Thriller followed. The album set new standards in the field of Emo and is now considered classics.

Already in the following year, however, it begins to kriseln within the ribbon. Scott Winegard and drummer Charles Walker got out due to personal differences in the band. A replacement has not been found, in 2003, the band broke up.

Music style

The only album Thriller is moving musically in the intersection between pop, emo and punk rock and is very versatile. In addition to some hard punk pieces there are ballad songs with piano accompaniment, and songs that increase in intensity. In addition to former members of the band Jimmy Eat World serves as a comparative size. Philipp SCHIEDEL overwrote his record review on Laut.de with " Setting new standards in Emo plate shelf. " Jesse Jarnow of Allmusic called New -end original music as similar to Soul Asylum, stressing rather the trendy elements of the album.
