Nicholas Anthony DiMarzio

Nicholas Anthony DiMarzio ( born June 16, 1944 in Newark, New Jersey, USA) is Bishop of Brooklyn.

Life

Nicholas Anthony DiMarzio received on 30 May 1970, the sacrament of Holy Orders for the Archdiocese of Newark.

On September 10, 1996, Pope John Paul II appointed titular bishop of Mauriana and auxiliary bishop in Newark. The Archbishop of Newark, Theodore Edgar McCarrick, donated to him on 31 October of the same year, the episcopal ordination; Co-consecrators were Archbishop Emeritus of Newark, Peter Leo Gerety, and the Coadjutor Bishop of Trenton, John Mortimer Fourette Smith.

On 7 June 1999, John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Camden. The inauguration took place on 22 July of the same year. John Paul II appointed him on 1 August 2003 as Bishop of Brooklyn. On 3 October the same year, the inauguration took place.
