Geography

Neighboring communities

In the west the town of Minden Peter Hagen - Luebbecke borders to the north the city Rehburg -Loccum ( Nienburg / Weser) and the Municipality Sachsenhagen. To the east are the Municipality Lindhorst and the county seat town of Hagen, in the south of the Municipality Nienstädt and Biickeburg.

Samtgemeinde outline

The Samtgemeinde Niedernwöhren was formed on 1 March 1974 at the regional reform. The previously separate municipality Nordsehl was divided. The southern municipality was incorporated as a district of Brandenburg in the City of Hagen.

Samtgemeinde Mayor

Fritz Anke (SPD ) was elected with 60.1 % of the vote for mayor of Samtgemeinde Niedernwöhren. After his retirement in was elected with 48.85 % of the vote to succeed on 20 January 2013, the nonpartisan Marc buses.

Finances

The budget for the financial year 2013, the ordinary income and expenses were set at each ~ 5.7 million euros as a result of budget. The financial budget and withdrawals of each ~ 5.6 million euros are expected. On Payments for investing activities 163,800 euros are provided. Description: The coat of arms of the velvet municipality Niedernwöhren shows a red shield with a silver nettle leaf in the middle. The nettle leaf contains in the middle of a five-petalled red rose with golden seeds and green sepals.
