Nikos Chatzis

Nikolaos " Nikos " Chatzis (Greek Nικόλαος Χατζής, born June 3, 1976 in Kalamata ) is a Greek professional basketball player.

Career

Nikolaos Chatzis began his career in his native city at the resident amateur club Poseidon Kalamata. In 1995 he received as freshly crowned World Junior Champion at AEK Athens first professional contract of his career. At AEK Chatzis remained until 2005 and also won the Saporta Cup in addition to a championship and two Cup successes of 2000. During this period Chatzis was promoted to captain and has since been pursuing the statistics for the most top-flight, points scored and assists in OCS club history at. After each one season at Olympiakos and Panionios Athens, Chatzis returned in the summer of 2007 to AEK back.

National

His biggest success with the national colors of Greece had Chatzis 1995 with the U-19 national team as he could win the World Cup on home soil alongside players such as Michalis Kakiouzis, Giorgos Kalaitzis, Dimitris Papanikolaou or Efthimios Rentzias. His debut at the Greek national was Chatzis on 18 December 1996 in a game against the Bosnian national team. In 2004, after a match against Brazil, Chatzis occurred after 26 operations and 123 points ( 4.73 on average) from the national team back.
