Nils Grandelius

Nils Gran Delius ( born June 3, 1993, Lund ) is a Swedish chess player.

Life

Besides chess Nils Gran Delius successfully played youth football at Lunder suburb club Dalby GIF. He was several times Swedish champion in chess education and training since 2005 by the International Master Emil Hermansson (born 1971 ), currently (as of 2009) by Grandmaster Tiger Hillarp Persson (born 1970 ). In September 2005 he won the SK Mumiens autumn tournament in Lund. For the Swedish national team, he participated in the U16 Youth Olympics in Doğubeyazıt in August 2006. In July 2007 he won in Stockholm, the Swedish U20 Junior Championship, in August 2008 the Valoz Cup as part of the summer in Olomouc Chess, in which he scored a Grandmaster norm, and in February 2009 an IM norm tournament in Lund. At the World Youth Championship 2010, he finished third in the age group U18, U18 2011 he was European champion. He played in the Chess Olympiad 2010 in Khanty-Mansiysk still on the first Reserverbrett Sweden, he played in the Chess Olympiad 2012 in Istanbul on top board.

Chess club he played until 2008 for the SK Bara Boender, he then joined only at the Lunds ASK, then to Sollentuna SK and back to the Lunds ASK. The Swedish team championship he won with the Lunds ASK in the season 2010/11. In Norway since the 2007 /08 season he plays for Tromsø. In the chess Bundesliga he is reported from the season 2010/ 11 for the SK Tower Emsdetten.

Since November 2008, bears the title of International Master. The standards for this purpose, he scored at the International Junior Open in May 2007 in the Danish Ballerup, the A group of chess summer in August 2007 in the Czech Olomouc and the 24th Open in February 2008 in the French Capelle- la- Grande ( overachievement of six points nine games). Grand Master he is since July 2010. Standards for his GM title, he scored in Olomouc in 2008 and 2009 and at the 40th International Tournament Bosna in Sarajevo in May 2010.

His current Elo rating is 2605 (as of February 2014), so it is on the first place in the Swedish Elo ranking. This is also its highest ever Elo rating.
