The Niza (Russian Ница ) is a 262 km long right tributary of Tura in the southwest of the West Siberian Plain in Russia.

Course

The Niza arises from the headwaters Neiwa from the left and from the right Resch in 74 m height around 30 kilometers east of Alapayevsk. Their length together with the longer source river Neiwa is 556 km. The Niza flows, usually highly meandering, the southwest of the West Siberian Plain in an easterly direction to its confluence with the Tura near the village of Ust- Nizinskoje.

At its entire length, the Niza flows through the Sverdlovsk Oblast.

The only town on the river is Irbit, lie in its catchment area or to the headwaters, however, the cities Kirowgrad, Nevyansk, Alapayevsk, Resch and Artjomowski.

Hydrography

The catchment area of 22,300 km ² comprises Niza. The average monthly water flow is on average run at Irbit about 165 kilometers above the mouth of 44 m³ / s ( minimum in February 11 m³ / s, maximum during the spring thaw in April 160 m³ / s).

In estuaries near the river is about 100 feet wide and two feet deep at normal water level; it has here a flow rate of 0.2 m / s

The only major tributary is the same in the city from the right which opens Irbit.

The Niza freezes between the end of October / beginning of November and the end of April.

Infrastructure

The Niza is navigable along its entire length for smaller vehicles, but is not used for inland navigation because of its twisty course today.

In Irbit the Niza of the railway Yekaterinburg - Tavda - Meschduretschenski ( Ustje - Acha ) is crossed.

The river runs through - by Siberian standards - relatively densely populated area and is accompanied on virtually the entire length of regional and local roads.
