Nogowczyce

Nogowschütz, Polish Nogowczyce, is a town in Upper Silesia in the community Ujest in powiat Strzelecki in the Opole Voivodeship.

History

In the plebiscite in Upper Silesia in 1921 voted 15 inhabitants for Germany and 84 for Poland - nevertheless remained Nogowschütz in the Weimar Republic. 1933 lived in Nogowschütz 214 inhabitants.

On 3 September 1936, the town was renamed in Wangschütz. 1939 lived in Wangschütz 295 inhabitants.

In 1945, it was under Polish administration and renamed Nogowczyce. In 1950, the town is part of the Opole Voivodeship and 1999 of the re-established powiat Strzelecki. In November 2008, the City also received the official German place names Nogowschütz.
