History

He lay further south, in the area of the former level crossing Heidberg road. The area around the station was sparsely populated at this time and more influenced by agriculture. After the founding of the city of Norderstedt 1970, he was here, however, the construction of the new quarter Norderstedt Mitte. In May 1979, the breakpoint Harkseichen - Falkenberg was renamed center in Norderstedt.

From 1991 to 1996 the subway was extended from Garstedt out for better transport links Norderstedt. The track of the Alster Northern Railway was a little further west of the old re-laid on a new route, so that the old route for the subway down deeper and double track could be built from scratch. This " wandering " of the A2 platform of the old station Norderstedt Mitte in steps to the north, at last he lay to the north of the City Hall Ave. Once the new subway line 1996 A2 was shortened up to this point. A short time later, the access to the A2 was taken to the Central Railway Station in the new system into operation, so that the A2- passengers can now change on the same platform to the waiting U -Bahn Hamburg.
