The Nordhausen station is a railway junction in North Thuringia and the main train station of the city of Nordhausen. Located just south of the city center in the valley of Zorge.

History

The railway reached Nordhausen on 10 July 1866, the opening of the railway line to hall, which was already extended on July 9, 1867 by west to Eichenberg. 1869 railway lines were added in the direction of Northeim and Erfurt. The narrow-gauge Harz Railway opened in 1897 to Wernigerode completes the Railroads; it starts at Nordhausen Nord train station on the north side of the station. There is also a connection to the tram Nordhausen, which connects the station with the most neighborhoods.

In 1994, the station was electrified. The station is also in the east-west freight of meaning, therefore, is located east of the passenger station, a large freight yard.
