North Canberra
North Canberra, also known as the Inner North, is a city district of Canberra, Australia's capital. It is 206.7 km ² and comprises 15 districts with a total of 40 142 inhabitants ( 2003). The district is one of the oldest section of Canberra at all and was largely constructed in accordance with the plans of Walter Burley Griffin. Almost all parts of the city created in 1928; in 1960 saw the addition of Downer, Hackett and Watson. To the south is the Lake Burley Griffin, in the east of Mount Majura and in the north of Mount Ainslie. The Barton Highway and the Federal Highway form the northern boundary.
