North Dorset

North Dorset is a District in the county of Dorset in England. Council is based in Blandford Forum; significant sights are Charlton Marshall, Child Okeford, Gillingham, Marnhull, Motcombe, Shaftesbury, Stalbridge, Sturminster Newton and Tarrant Monkton.

The district was formed on 1 April 1974 and evolved from the merger of the Municipal Boroughs Blandford Forum and Shaftesbury, and the Rural Districts Blandford, Shaftesbury and Sturminster.
