Northern Midlands Council

The Northern Midlands are to the east of the island about 150 km north of the capital, Hobart. There are 25 districts and towns: Avoca, Ben Lomond, Bishop Bourne, Blackwood Creek, Upper Blessington, Breadalbane, Campbell Town, Cleveland, Conara, Deddington Devon Hills Epping Forest Evandale, Lake Leake, River Liffey, Longford, Nile, Perth, Poatina Powranna, Ross, Ross Arden, Royal George, Toiberry and Western Junction. The seat of the City Council is located in Longford in the north west of the LGA, where about 4300 inhabitants.

Management

The Northern Midlands Council has nine members. The Mayor ( Mayor ), his deputy ( deputies) and Councillor seven are elected directly by the residents of the LGA. Northern Midlands is not divided into districts.
