Nowy Młyn, Kętrzyn County

Nowy Mlyn ( German Neumühl ) is a village in Poland, in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship. The village is located in the powiat Kętrzyński in the community Ketrzyn ( Rastenburg ) and belongs to the mayor's office ( sołectwo ) Biedaszki.

Geographical location

The village is located in north-eastern Poland. Due to the location of the river Dajna, south of Nowy Mlyn flows there is a lake.

History

Between 1420 and 1442 a water mill was built. However, a town developed slowly in 1785 and 1817, there was only a residential building. 1867 got Neumühl with the East Prussian southern railway a rail connection. As a result of the Second World War, the village since 1945 part of Poland. Since 1973, the station now as a functioning part of the village mayor's office Biedaszki in the community Kętrzyn.

Nowy Mlyn is located on a side street which in the southwest to about 600 meters after Smokowo and then further south to Grabno. In the north, the road leads about 500 meters in Biedaszki in the Province Road 594 ( droga wojewódzka 594 ).

Direct train connections there after Korsze in the northwest and Kętrzyn and Elk in the east.

The geographically nearest international airport is Kaliningrad, which is about 100 kilometers northwest, located on Russian territory. The nearest international airport on Polish territory is located about 190 kilometers west of Lech Walesa Airport, Gdansk.
