Nowy Żelibórz

Nowy Żelibórz ( German Selberg B, Rummelsburg ) is a village right at the eastern border of the Polish West Pomeranian Voivodeship. It belongs to the urban and rural community Polanów ( Pollnow ) in the powiat Koszaliński ( Pomerania ).

Geographical location

Nowy Żelibórz is located on a side street that Żydowo ( Sydow ) in the province road 205 Kwacze ( Kaffzig ) connects to the province road 206. Until the former county town Miastko ( Rummelsburg ) lies 16 km away, the present district metropolis Koszalin ( Koszalin ) is 49 kilometers far away.

About five kilometers away Kawcze ( Kaffzig ) is connected to the railway track Pila - Ustka ( Schneidemühl - Stolpmünde ). Between 1898 and 1945 there was also about five kilometers away Żydowo ( Sydow ) following the railway line Schlawe - Pollnow - width of the mountain Schlawer tracks.

Place name

The German place name differs Selberg B ( Rummelsburg ) of which only two kilometers away, sell mountain ( also called Selberg A, Schlawe ). This differentiation also attacks the Polish naming of Nowy Żelibórz in contrast to Stary Żelibórz (now both places in the powiat Koszalinski ) on.

History

Selberg B was as Vorwerk Bial (now Polish: Biała ) is applied to the up to 1813 the outworks Ewaldshof or Raderang ( Drążkowo ) Johannishof ( Przyborzyce ) and Jägerhof ( Psary ) joined, followed by Louisenhof ( Gostkowo ), Peterhof ( Cieszanowo ) Seehof ( Głęboczek ) and Klewerhof ( Pokrzywno ) in subsequent years.

In the reorganization of the municipal districts in 1928, the new rural community Selberg B were from the Vorwerk Selberg B and the extensions Johannishof ( Przyborzyce ) Jünsterberg, Kleehof, Marienhütte Raderang ( Drążkowo ), Snake Moor, Hasselhoff ( Jeżewo ) and Lischberg ( Liszkowo ) formed. By 1945 Selberg B belonged to the district Rummelsburg in the district of the Prussian province of Pomerania Pomerania. Since 1945, the place is a district under the name of Nowy Żelibórz ( with mayor's office ) of Gmina Polanów in powiat Koszaliński in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship.

Church

The population of Selberg B was before 1945 predominantly Protestant. The village belonged to the parish of Great Schwirsen (now Polish: Świerzno ) in the church Rummelsburg ( Miastko ) Ostsprengel in the ecclesiastical province of the Church of the Old Prussian Pomerania Union. Last German clergyman before 1945 was pastor Georg Meyer.

Since 1945 the inhabitants of Nowy Żelibórz are almost all Catholic. Ecclesiastical center is still Świerzno ( United Schwirsen ) as a parish in the deanery Polanów ( Pollnow ) in the Diocese of Koszalin - Kolobrzeg of the Catholic Church in Poland. Here surviving Protestant church members are now part of Cross Church in Slupsk ( Stolp ) in the Diocese of Pomerania - Greater Poland the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland. The closest branch church is the village church in Wołcza Wielka (Great Volz ).
