The Nyenrode Business Universiteit, often abbreviated as Nyenrode or Nijenrode, is the oldest independent university in the Netherlands.

Nijenrode was founded in 1946 as the Nederlands Instituut voor het Opleidings Buitenland ( NOIB ). It should serve as a university to " prepare for the international business of life " ". Nijenrode 1982 received the status of a university. The University is located in the town of Breukelen, between Amsterdam and Utrecht.

History

The Nyenrode Business Universiteit in 1946 by executives of the Dutch multinational corporations, including Akzo, KLM, Philips, Shell and Unilever launched. Soon, as the Nederlands Instituut voor het Opleidings Buitenland ( NOIB, Dutch training institute for foreign countries ), founded educational institution was named after the castle, Nyenrode from the 13th century. In 1982, the Institute of the Dutch government as a university ( Universiteit Nyenrode ) was recognized. Ten years later, the leaders decided to forego the funding provided by the Dutch government and convert the state university in a private university, as an internal selection of students was reserved in the Netherlands only private universities.

Today, the Nyenrode Business Universiteit of two schools, the Business School and Nyenrode School of Accountancy & Controlling. The time acting as his namesake castle is located in the northeastern part of the university campus. Nyenrode enjoys a high reputation at the international level in the areas of Business and Management Research, and Business and Management Education. The University maintains close relationships with national and international business networks, a fact that is reflected in the international nature of their student body. In addition to the training programs for managers, executives and entrepreneurs, the Nyenrode Business Universiteit also offers an extensive training program with courses and in-house learning modules that are tailored to the needs of managers in the corporate sector. The Nyenrode Research & Innovation Institute includes a PhD School may graduate to the graduates, and also promotes independent academic studies and publications Nyenrode faculty.

Degrees

The focus of the Nyenrode Business Universiteit is within the scope of management programs to the MBA and MSc courses. The offered as full-time and part -time programs MBA programs include a two-week learning module on the belonging to the Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management, near Chicago. The former dean of the Kellogg School of Management, Dipak Jain, is a visiting professor at Nyenrode. Apart from the partnership with the Kellogg School of Management, Nyenrode Business Universiteit has close ties with the University of Stellenbosch in South Africa, the Harvard Business School in the United States, the Vlerick School of Management in Belgium and the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland. In addition, the Nyenrode Business Universiteit was co-founder of the China Europe International Business School. My internationally oriented MBA program attracts students from all over the world. Unlike other Dutch universities an extensive selection process takes place at Nyenrode, in which the prospective student must complete a Graduate Management Admissions Test and a selection interview. As written in Nyenrode students have different nationalities, the majority of courses are offered in English.

In the European Business Schools ranking ( 2008), the Financial Times, the Nyenrode Business Universiteit was conducted on 28th position of the 65 best business schools. In the ranking of Executive MBA Programs ( 2009) of the Financial Times is the Nyenrode Business Universiteit to square one in terms of career development. The Master's Programme in Management MSc is the world ranking for master's degree programs in Management ( 2009) of the Financial Times on a 40th place overall. In addition, this Master's program was awarded in September 2009 as the best academic master program of the Netherlands.
