Church Oberentfelden

Oberentfelden (Swiss German: ɔbər ˌ æmpfæʊd ) is a municipality in the district of Aarau in the Swiss canton of Aargau. It is located in the lower Suhrental and borders the Canton of Solothurn.

Geography

The municipal area extends from the forested hills Schornig ( 596 m above sea level. M. ) to the east across the flat, about two kilometers wide plain of Suhrentals to Tann (502 m above sea level. M. ) to the west, another forested hills. During Tann is gently rising, the Schornig rises steeply at the bottom of the height and flattens out at the top of a small plateau. The populated area is located in the plane and is completely conjoined with that of the neighboring community Unterentfelden. The plane is crossed by two small rivers, the Uerke and Suhre.

The area of the municipality is 716 hectares, of which 297 hectares are forested and built over 237 hectares. The highest point is located on 596 meters on the Schornig, the deepest at 410 meters at Uerke and Suhre.

Neighboring municipalities are Unterentfelden in the north, Suhr in the northeast, Graenichen in the east, mooing in the southeast, Kölliken in the southwest as well as the Solothurn Gretzenbach communities in the west and Schönenwerd in the northwest.

History

On the upper field in the eastern part of the plain was in Roman times a major farm with several farm buildings. It was created in the late 1st century and was inhabited until the end of the 4th century. Its southern boundary is identical to the present municipal boundary to mooing. The manor house with front terrace and laterally offset Badetrakt lay on the western slope of the Schornig. The plant was excavated from 1936 to 1958 in three stages and explored, then covered up again. Attractions

The old church in 1601 in a village fire completely destroyed and rebuilt the following year.
