Obererlinsbach (Swiss German: æ ː ˌ rliʃ pɑχ ) is a municipality in the district of Aarau in the Swiss canton of Aargau. The village lies to the west of the district capital Aarau on Erzbach. The river also forms the border with Erlinsbach SO in the canton of Solothurn.

Geography

The northern boundary of the municipality extends to the main ridge of the Jura Mountains along, between the Wasserflue (866 m above sea level. M. ) in the northeast and the Geissflue ( 963 m above sea level. M. ) in the northwest. A secondary peak of Geissflue, the Geissfluegrat is, with a height of 908 meters, the highest elevation in the canton of Aargau. History

Individual findings point to a settlement of the Erzbachtals during the Bronze Age and Roman rule.
