Oberes Sprottental

In the administration of Community Upper Sprottental from the Thuringian district Altenburger Land, eight communities have joined together to do their administrative business. It was founded in 1994 and based in Nöbdenitz.

History

The Management Community Upper Sprottental was formed on 12 October 1994 from the administrative Communities Löbichau - Wildenbörten and Thonhausen and the communities Nöbdenitz and Posterstein. In the neighboring district of Greiz existed from 1991 to 1995, the VG Upper Sprottetal, which was then renamed on Brahmetal.

Landscape

The region is heavily agricultural and relatively scarcely wooded. In addition, here partially uranium was mined.

Culture and sights

Almost all places have typical Altenburger Vierseithof and village churches. Furthermore, there are various points of interest in the various communities:

  • Jonaswalde: Umgebindehaus ( unique home of a Vierseithofes )
  • Löbichau: Castle Löbichau with English Garden, resurrection Aurora ( renatured Uranium Mining District ), palace and park Tannenfeld
  • Nöbdenitz: Water Palace ( seat of VG), 1000 year old oak ( landmark of the municipality )
  • Posterstein: Museum at the Castle Posters stone, castle church, art and Kräuterhof ( landmarked four-sided )
  • Vollmershain: mini golf park, outdoor swimming pool

Economy and infrastructure

In the field of administrative community, there are two connection points of the A4, namely these are the Schmölln downhill Schönhaide and Ronneburg downhill Beerwalde. Furthermore, the B7 runs through the municipalities Löbichau and Nöbdenitz. Nöbdenitz also has a stop at the mid - Germany connection.

Industrial premises have settled at the connection points of the highway. Furthermore, farming is done. In addition, tourism plays an important role, because through the entire administrative community bike trails, such as the Towns of Thuringia or the Mittelland Route D4.
