Ofterschwanger Horn

The Ofterschwanger Horn is a mountain in the Allgäu Alps, which rises above the town of Ofterschwang. It is the northernmost peak of the horn section with a height of 1406 meters. A few meters below the main summit is a directed eastward foothills to 1396 meters. This head is covered with grass and largely free of trees. There is a stately wooden cross and a generous system of wooden benches for walkers.

The World Cup - Express quad chairlift, which begins on the outskirts of Ofterschwang, leads to the hiking trails around the Ofterschwanger horn. The summit itself lies 400 meters south of the cableway mountain station and offers views of the Allgäu mountain ranges against it stands the thumb group south in the valley of the Iller inflows Trettach and Stillach rise Trettachspitze and Mädelegabel.

Sports activities in summer

An extensive network of mountain paths and hiking trails allow both challenging mountain hikes and leisurely walks on well- paved roads.

The Ofterschwanger horn is very often used as a starting place for paragliding.

Winter sports

Skiers find more lifts in the summit area; Thanks to its local mountain Ofterschwang is a World Cup ski resort. On Ofterschwanger horn the longest at 5,000 meters snowmaking system guarantees Germany a carefully designed landscape slopes for downhill skiing from the summit to the valley. Fifteen kilometers of ski slopes are usually prepared at the end of Advent until Easter.
