The Aleksandr Benua Class project 26-37/MOL1575

The river cruise ships in the Oktyabrskaya - Revolyutsiya class which as a project or MOL1575 26-37 ( slovak: motorová osobna iodine 1575 motor vessel PS 1575) were known, river and channel common inland passenger motor ships of medium-sized design. The series is named after the October Revolution (Russian Октябрьская революция ) in Russia.

Particulars

On behalf of the Soviet government, the shipyard Narodny Podnik Škoda built in Komárno (Slovak Slovenske Lodenice Komarno np ) in the years 1957-1962 14 units of the ship class for the Volga -Reederei. The first ship of this class, Oktyabrskaya Revolyutsiya, 1957 delivered. By 1961, an additional 13 units were completed and handed over. They are very similar to the ships of the Project 588 class. In the Soviet Union they were used as internal passenger ships on the Volga. For their time, they were comfortable and reliable ships with a fine stream line shape.

Technical Description

The ships with three passenger decks are powered by three diesel engines with 525 hp. Many units of the project -26 -37- class with original Slovakian facility are still in service. End of the 1980s, shortly before the collapse of the USSR, the modernization of the ships was developed and realized at one of the ships in 1997.
