Oleksandr Moroz

Olexandr Moroz Olexandrowytsch (Ukrainian Олександр Олександрович Мороз, scientific transliteration Oleksandr Moroz Oleksandrovyč; * February 29, 1944 in Buda, Kiev Oblast ) is a Ukrainian politician. He was from 1991 to 2010 Chairman of the Socialist Party of Ukraine ( SPU) and was several times a deputy in the Verkhovna Rada, as well as their President.

Career

Moros comes from a large family from the village of Buda south of Kiev; his father was a carpenter, his mother Kolkhoz Woman. He graduated in 1965, the Academy of Agriculture as an engineer / mechanic from. After completing his military service in 1966 he taught until 1974 at the Technical School in Taraschtscha in the Department of mechanization. 1974 to 1976 he worked in various argrartechnischen holdings in 1976 as a senior engineer in Kiev Silhosptechnika ( Сільгосптехніка ). Since 1990 Olexandr Moroz was elected four times as a list candidate of his party in the Verkhovna Rada, in the years 1994 to 1998 as its chairman. 1994, 1999 and 2004, he participated as a candidate in the presidential elections in part and each came in third place, with 13.04 percent, 11.29 percent and 5.81 percent last in 2004. Moros was for many years a staunch opponent of President Leonid Kuchma; in 2000 he published tapes, the Kuchma aufzeigten alleged involvement in the murder of journalist Gongadze Heorhiy.
