Olšovice

Olšovice ( German Wolschowitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located 19 km north-west of the center of České Budějovice and belongs to Okres Prachatice.

Geography

Olšovice is located on the northern foothills of the Blanský right side of Netolický creek in the headwaters of Pištínský creek. South-west rises the Mužský (502 m).

Neighboring towns are Podeřiště and Hláska in the north, Hlavatce in the northeast, Vlhlavy in the east, in the southeast Mahouš, Hlodačky in the south, the west and Netolice Hradiště in the northwest.

History

The first written mention of the village was carried out in 1248 under the name Volišovice. As of 1262, the village belonged to the castle Poděhusy whose owners were the Rosenbergs. 1421 burned the Hussites led by Jan Zizka, the castle down. Wok von Rosenberg sold in 1481 the desert castle with the same court to Peter Kořenský of Terešov. For further sales, the castle was mentioned to 1548 as a desolate castle, then never again was of her speech.

The municipality consists of the villages Olšovice Hláska ( Hlaska ) and Olšovice ( Wolschowitz ) and the local situation Třetina.
