Olumide Oyedeji

Olumide Oyedeji (born 11 May 1981 in Ibadan, Nigeria) is a Nigerian professional basketball player. He is 2.10 m tall, weighs 115 kg, playing on the position of the center and was known primarily for his time in the NBA.

Career

Oyedeji began his career at age 16 in his home country of Nigeria to Ebun Comets, but he left after one year to Russia and also went on basket hunting for a year for Dynamo Moscow. Subsequently, a two-year commitment to the DJK Würzburg s.Oliver followed in the National Basketball League, where he helped the team to the league and also the top scorer of the BBL All- Star Games 1999/2000 was promoted with 23 points. In 2000 Oyedeji was then drafted by the Seattle SuperSonics in the NBA and changed two years later to the Orlando Magic. In these three years, the Nigerians played a total of 93 games. After a short stay at Ilisiakos in Greece came the now 22 -year-old to England to Brighton Bears. Within the next few years Oyedeji changed hands eight times the club, including a re- appearance in the NBA with the Atlanta Hawks, but for which he denied any NBA game. Since 2009, the Nigerian was in Puerto Rico for Vaqueros de Bayamon in use. After a year he left the club and returned to Asia, where he made his debut on 20 December 2009 at the jersey of Liaoning Panpan Hunters. After a brief engagement in Jordan at ASU Sports Club, he signed a valid for the 2010/11 season contract with Juve Caserta in Italy, which was a few time but resolved later. Shortly thereafter, he announced the change to the Chinese first division Guangdong Foshan.

Since 1999 Oyedeji is also recommended for the national team of Nigeria on the road, with which he won the bronze medal at the African Championships in 1999 and 2003 respectively the silver medal, and 2005.
