Onni Rajasaari

Onni Rajasaari Rafael ( born March 2, 1910 in Hanko, † November 12, 1994 ) was a Finnish athlete. At a height of 1.74 m his competition weight was 69 kg.

At the Olympic Games in 1932 was Onni Rajasaari with 14.15 meters in the triple jump eleventh. With 14.74 meters he won at the European Championships 1934 in Turin bronze, 15 centimeters behind the winner Willem Peters from the Netherlands.

In Berlin at the Olympic Games in 1936, he failed in the long jump in the qualification. In the triple jump, he was Thirteenth with 14.59 meters. At the European Championships in Paris in 1938 Rajasaari won with 15.32 meters, second place was his compatriot Jouko Norén with 14.95 meters.

Onni Rajasaari was Finnish champion in the triple jump from 1933 to 1939 and in the long jump in 1938. In the triple jump, he started out in 1945 and the last time was again fourth in the Finnish Championship. His best performance in the triple jump was never recognized as a European record, but it was from 1939 to 1956 Finnish record.
