Osek (Písek District)

Osek to 1924 Vosek ( German Wosek ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located five kilometers west of Milevsko and belongs to Okres Pisek.

Geography

Osek is located in the valley of the brook Osecký creek in the belonging to the Central Bohemian hills Milevská pahorkatina. Towards the south of the forest area Hruštice extends to the game reserve Květovská obora. To the north rise the Hůrky (503 m ) in the east of Zvíkovec (542 m ) south of the Karlův vrch (Book Mountain, 535 m), in the southwest of Chumelák ( 489 m ) and northwest of the Chlum (552 m) and the Holý vrch (490 m).

Neighboring towns are Chlumek in the north, Zbelítov in the northeast, Milevsko, Kamenný Kříž and Hajda in the east, Líšnice and Rukáveč the southeast, Pazderna and Tyrolský Dum in the south, Hamr, Květov, svatý Jan and Kučeř the southwest, Pazderna, Chlum and Jickovice in the West and Velka and Laciny in the northwest.

History

Osek was probably from the 13th century to the possessions of the Premonstratensian Mühlhausen. The monastery was destroyed on 23 April 1420 by the Hussites, where all documents were lost. The first written mention of Osek dates from the year 1469. After the abolition of patrimonial Vosek formed t. Osek / Vosek 1850 a municipality in the district team Pisek and the jurisdiction Milevsko. In 1869, the village consisted of 41 houses and 415 inhabitants had .. From 1919, belonged to the community Vosek Okres Milevsko. The official place name was changed in 1924 in Osek. In the wake of the repeal of the Okres Milevsko Osek was re- assigned to the Okres Pisek end of 1960. In 1970, Osek 197 inhabitants and consisted of 54 houses. On April 1, 1976 Osek was incorporated into Zbelítov and at the beginning of 1985 together with it to Milevsko. On November 24, 1990 Osek broke again from Milevsko and formed its own community. In 1995 the village was affected by a creek flood of Osecký. As a result of heavy rains broke in the night of 7 August 2002, the dams of the two ponds at Zakov. From the flood and the children of the town stock Říčany was flooded. It was only on 13 August 2002, the water had reduced that the thoroughfare could be traveled by cars and buses again. In 2010 lived in 69 houses in the village, 122 people.
