Osvaldo Héctor Cruz (* May 29, 1931 ) is a former Argentine footballer. With the national team of his native country, he participated in the Football World Cup 1958.

Career

Club career

Osvaldo Cruz began his footballing career in 1951 at CA Independiente in Avellaneda, an industrial suburb of Argentina's capital Buenos Aires. In Independiente he played, among others, along with other Argentine football greats of that time like Ernesto Grillo, José Varacka and David Acevedo. Cruz won a national title during his first time at Independiente 1951-1960. 1960 the team finished in first place in La Liga with two points ahead of CA River Plate from Buenos Aires.
