Ott Tänak

Ott Tanak (born 15 October 1987 Kärla on Saaremaa ) is an Estonian rally driver. At its tenth participation in a World Championship race, the Rally Mexico in 2011, he drove for the first time a one championship point.

Career

The team of former rally driver Markko Märtin driving, Tanak won the 2008 and 2009 the title of the Estonian Rally Championship.

On his first World Rally Championship round of the 21-year- old Tanak had participated in the Rally of Portugal 2009. In September of the same year he won an entity belonging to Pirelli Star Driver series Rally in Austria. He was voted " Pirelli Star Driver 2009". This enabled him 2010 free participation in six rounds of the World Rally Championship in the P -WRC class.

In 2010 he started at the Rally Sweden and participated in the six above-mentioned events. There he won the PWRC class, the Rally Finland and Rally Wales.

In 2011 he travels the fourth year for Markko Märtins team. The first year starting in the SWRC class, he reached with the tenth overall in the Rally of Mexico his first championship point. In Sardinia, he scored as a total - seventh his best result and further six championship points. The Rallye de France 2011 Tanak launched its first World Rally Championship on asphalt. He drove there a an impressive class victory and reached the strong field overall ranking eleventh place. In the UK, he started for the first time in a World Rally Car and immediately reached the sixth place overall.
