Overseas Shipholding Group

The Overseas Shipholding Group ( OSG ) is a shipping company with headquarters in New York City and offices in Athens, Houston, London, Manila, Montreal, Newcastle, Philadelphia, Singapore and Tampa / Florida. The group is one of the largest oil tanker company in the world. Its fleet currently includes (2009) 120 operational ships ( owned and chartered ) with a total of approximately 11.8 million tons dwt capacity and 26 under construction, with another 2.9 million tons dwt; also the largest double oil tanker in the world, the TI Oceania, and one of its sister ships, the TI Africa, are owned by the Company.

The shares of Overseas Shipholding Group, founded in 1948, is listed since 1970 on the New York Stock Exchange and is currently included in the Dow Jones Composite Average stock index and Dow Jones Transportation Average. One of the largest individual shareholders is currently John Fredriksen. The company had 2008 sales of 1.5 billion U.S. dollars, an EBITDA of 530.2 million and a profit of 317.7 million.
