Pandemic Studios

Pandemic Studios was a company that develops computer games. Since 2008, it belonged to publisher Electronic Arts. Last operation Pandemic two development studios in Los Angeles and Brisbane, Australia. On 17 November 2009 the studio was officially closed.

History

The company president was Josh Resnick, Andrew Goldman was the CEO. Both worked until 1998 at Activision and founded in the same year Pandemic Studios.

A second development studio in Brisbane, Australia was opened in 2000. 2003 pulled the California studio of founding place Santa Monica to Los Angeles ( Westwood ) in a high-rise.

In a 300 - million-dollar merger Pandemic went the end of 2005 with the Canadian developer BioWare into a partnership. With registered capital of private equity firm Elevation Partners, VG Holding Corp. was founded, its subsidiaries Pandemic and Bioware were. Two years later, in October 2007, it was announced that publisher Electronic Arts, VG Holding Corp. - and thus Pandemic and Bioware - have been bought for the amount of about 860 million U.S. dollars. The acquisition was completed in January 2008. On November 17, 2009 Electronic Arts announced that the studio will be closed, but the name and franchises are to be continued.
