Papyrus 24

(Referred to Gregory- Aland Sigel 24) Papyrus 24 is an early copy of the Greek New Testament. It is a papyrus manuscript of the Book of Revelation contains only the verses 5.5-8 and 6.5-8. Using palaeography, it has been dated to the early 4th century.

It is so far the oldest known manuscript containing the text of Revelation 5-6.

The Greek text of this codex is a representative of the Alexandrian text-type (or rather a proto- Alexandrian ). Aland placed it in Category I. The manuscript shows textual accordance with the Codex Alexandrinus, but the remaining fragment too small to determine its total textual content.

The manuscript is currently housed in the Franklin Trask Library Andover Newton Theological School ( OP 1230) in Newton (Massachusetts ).
