Patrik Kühnen

Patrik Kuhnen ( born February 11, 1966 in Nailsworth ) is a former German tennis player.

Tennis career

In the years 1988, 1989 and 1993, he won as a player with the German team to the Davis Cup in 1989 and 1994 and the World Team Cup. His biggest single success in 1988 was the quarter-finals of Wimbledon.

From 1998 to 2002 he was coach of the B- squad of the German Tennis Federation. From 2003 to 2012, he was captain of the German Davis Cup team and coached the team well at the World Team Cup. This trophy he won with the team in 2005 and 2011. In 2008 he also assumed responsibility as tournament director of the BMW Open.

Due to internal conflicts with the Davis Cup players to Philipp Kohlschreiber and the feeling of lack of backing by the DTB was known Bold on 31 October 2012 not to renew his contract as captain of the German Davis Cup team.
