Paul 's Boutique is the second studio album by the hip- hop group the Beastie Boys. It was released in July 1989 and is considered a hip hop milestone. The album was recorded at number 156 in the list of the 500 best albums of the magazine Rolling Stone.
History
The album was recorded in Los Angeles City and New York. After the first album the band had already written off by some as a one- hit wonder. The band signed to Capitol Records / EMI. With the second album, the band concentrated on publishing less commercial songs. In the background the Dust Brothers were. A total of 105 songs were sampled on the album, so it completely redefined the approach in hip-hop to sampling.
