Paul Clarence Schulte

Paul Clarence Schulte ( born March 18, 1890 in Fredericktown, Missouri, USA; † 17 February 1984) was Archbishop of Indianapolis.

Life

Paul Clarence Schulte received on 11 June 1915, the sacrament of Holy Orders.

On May 29, 1937, he was named by Pope Pius XI. Bishop of Leavenworth. The Archbishop of Saint Louis, John Joseph Glennon, donated to him on 21 September of the same year the episcopal ordination; Co-consecrators were the Bishop of Galveston, Christopher Edward Byrne, and the Auxiliary Bishop of Saint Louis, Christian Herman Winkelmann. The inauguration took place on 28 April of the same year.

On July 20, 1946, he was named by Pope Pius XII. Archbishop of Indianapolis. Paul Clarence Schulte resigned on 3 January 1970 and was appointed Titular Archbishop of Elicroca.
