Paul Fix

Paul Paul Fix ( born January 13, 1901 in Dobbs Ferry, New York, † October 14, 1983 in Los Angeles, California ) was an American theater, television and film actor and screenwriter who has appeared in more than 300 films.

Life

Paul Fix was born on 13 January 1901 as a son of the German brewmaster Wilhelm Fix in Dobbs Ferry in the U.S. state of New York. In 1918, he joined the Navy, got married in 1922, later became the father of a daughter and came to Hollywood in the 1920s. He also played for a long time theater. He had in 1925 in the movie The Perfect Clown his first film appearance. These were followed by more than 300 film performances that have made him one of the busiest actors in film history.

Friends linked him with Clark Gable and especially with John Wayne, with whom he starred in many films. His main genre in the film were mainly Western, in which he only incidental or small rolls took over, despite great actor's performance.

He was the father of the actor Harry Carey Jr.

Paul Fix died on October 14, 1983 in Los Angeles, California.

Paul Fix as a TV star

On television, Paul Fix was a big star. In many series he has played guest roles, so in Quincy, Battlestar Galactica, The Streets of San Francisco, The Waltons and Others Played in Star Trek 1966 Dr. Mark Piper. But he had his most famous role in the Western series West of Santa Fe, where he played the Marshal.
