Paul Stoddart

Paul Stoddart ( born May 26, 1955 in Melbourne) is an Australian flight entrepreneur and founder of various airlines. Until 2005 he was also owner of the Formula 1 team Minardi.

Stoddart has a considerable fortune, which he has achieved with low-cost airlines. In 2001, he appeared as a savior of the Italian racing team Minardi, where he was responsible for the further progress of the racing operation. He also promoted the career of his compatriot Mark Webber, of its entry into Formula 1 with Minardi managed. In his first race in Australia achieved this with a fifth rank the first position in the points after years of failure. Stoddart was until its sale to Red Bull racing team ( Scuderia Toro Rosso ) announced that he would like exercising with his voice in the FIA College of teams blocking minority or had announced sharp criticism of FIA president Max Mosley.

In 2005, Stoddart founded the budget airline OzJet but which was sold to Heavy Lift Cargo Airlines in 2008.
